Creation Museum Info
Below you will find a copy of the email that was sent to everyone who showed interest in going to the Creation Museum.
Hello Gang… This email is going out to everyone who showed an interest in going to the Creation Museum. I have an update on some prices for you guys. I will list out all of the details below. Please feel free to forward this to anyone who would be interested in going with us.
Place: Creation Museum (Petersburg, KY) and Ark Encounter (Hebron, KY)
Dates: April 19-23, 2017
Lodging information: Holiday Inn Cincinnati Airport, 1717 Airport Exchange Blvd. Erlanger, KY. Room rate is $85 per night and the taxes are pretty steep. I would imagine it will be around 100 a night with tax. (4 nights @ 100= $400) Hotel is 15 miles from Creation Museum and 30 miles from Ark Encounter. I have asked for all of our rooms to have 2 queen beds. If you need a cot for your family or if you want to make any upgrades I am sure there will be an additional charge. Price for the room INCLUDES continental breakfast. Hotel is non-smoking and has an indoor pool.
Ticket prices: Combo ticket that includes 2 days in Creation Museum and 1 day to Ark Encounter. ($55 for adult, $29 for Child, $40 Senior, children under 5 are free). There is a $10 fee to park at the Ark Encounter. The Creation Museum also offers 2 planetarium shows for $7.95 for the first and $4 for the second. They also offer separate workshops for a couple bucks apiece. All of these events exceeded my expectations when I went and I recommend them.
Transportation: You are welcome to get there any way that you desire! I am planning to take the church bus. We drove the youth to PA on a mission trip and it was much more comfortable than I had imagined. I plan to leave about 7am on Wednesday morning. I plan to stop about 10am for a stretch, 12pm for lunch, 3pm for a stretch, 5pm for dinner, and I plan on arriving about 7-8pm that evening. Seats on the bus will be about $15 per seat, until we get to the last 5 seats and we will auction them off to the highest bidder! Just Kidding! (Actually $15 is a pretty good guess but it will depend on the price of fuel at the time we leave, but 15 is going to be pretty close.) If you choose to drive separate you are welcome to follow us or leave after us. You can not get your room before I get there because I chose to get us a discount by me paying for all of the rooms at the same time.
If you have a family of 4… 2 adults and 2 children and you rode the bus… The trip would cost you approx. $628 plus meals (This price does not include the baseball game listed below… Tickets to the baseball game will go for $11 apiece and they are in the outfield. They are the “cheap seats”, but the ball park is pretty cool and would be fun!
Thursday or Friday night we can go to a Cincinnati Reds game at 7:10. The Creation Museum closes at 6pm and we are going for two days. It wouldn’t be bad to leave about 5pm one day grab some dinner and then go to a baseball game. Friday night the Reds are hosting the CHICAGO CUBS!!! Also… the Cubs game is “Firework Friday”… Fireworks after the game!!!
Last time I took a group to the Creation Museum we got together each evening for a short devotional and to “debrief” what we all took in that day. As the trip gets closer I will put out an itinerary that is a little more detailed. (Especially for those who will be “bound” to the bus!)
Hopefully this is helpful. If you have any questions email me directly, do not reply to all… I will answer all email question to the whole group though. Thanks for your interest!!!
